Instructions for families seeking assistance
To request financial assistance from The Payton Wright Foundation, please review the following qualifications keeping in mind, we are a small foundation and we assist families all around the country. We help with a families immediate needs in terms of electric, gas, mortgage or rent. We cannot provide support for lost wages.
Any family with a child diagnosed with brain cancer/tumor prior to the child's 18th birthday is eligible.
The applicant MUST be the parent or legal guardian of the diagnosed child and the primary caregiver of the child. Any bill submitted MUST be in the parent(s) or guardian’s name.
The family in need will be identified by their social worker. The social worker will coordinate bill payment in collaboration with the Payton Wright Foundation so families can focus on their child during this difficult time. The Payton Wright Foundation ONLY works through the child’s social worker. A family MUST submit the contact information of their social worker on the application in order for assistance process to begin. An email will ONLY be sent to the social worker given on the request form to start the process.
To receive assistance, the child must be currently undergoing treatments for brain cancer/tumor. If the child is on oral chemo and able to attend school, they are not eligible for assistance. The Payton Wright Foundation is needed for those parents that are unable to work due to increase hospital stays and care for their child.
General assistance will be provided for up to three consecutive months (each case will be reviewed if assistance is required after the three-month period).
Financial assistance includes but not limited to mortgages/rent, utilities, travel expenses including gas cards or car repairs, phone bills, groceries, and sundries but EXCLUDES hospital/doctor bills, medications and trial protocols. Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse lost wages.
