For the last 12 years, The Payton Wright Foundation has held a golf tournament in May in remembrance of Payton’s birthday. It has grown in such popularity that it sells out every year with incredible numbers of sponsors, volunteers, and supporters. This fundraiser has helped us grow as a foundation to be able to support more families with a child with brain cancer than ever. The income from this one event makes up almost half of our annual budget to help families.

It is with great sadness that we have decided to cancel our 12th annual golf tournament. We feel that under the current circumstances we could not safely hold it and rescheduling it came with too many drawbacks. As a foundation, our board of directors has decided that it is important to not spend any extra money on fundraisers during this time focus spending on household bills and gas cards for parents that have a child battling brain cancer.

During this outbreak, many people have lost their jobs for unforeseen circumstances. This is often what happens to parents that have a child with brain cancer. Forced to care for their child and drive to and from treatments constantly, they are unable to work and often have to take an unpaid leave of absence.

Brain cancer diagnoses will not decrease during this time and neither will our support of families. At this time, The Payton Wright Foundation board of directors asks those who have or would normally sponsor or purchase golfing packages to consider turning that support into a fully tax-deductible donation. We need your support now more than ever and we will continue to find ways to feature our supporters.

The Payton Wright Foundation has been community-funded for 12 years and we know the community will come together to help us help families. Thank you for your continued support
