In May of 2006, our four year old daughter Payton Makenna Wright was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called Medulloepithelioma. Unfortunately there was no protocol to follow, therefore her treatment was pieced together by doctors. Throughout the year she underwent heavy doses of chemotherapy and radiation. She became paralyzed in August 2006 due to the tumor compressing her spine. Payton had to undergo several surgeries for shunt placement in her skull to release the pressure build up.

It was a long and difficult road for Payton and our family, but nothing was as difficult as when our daughter passed away on May 29, 2007. She had just celebrated her 5th birthday.

As Payton's parents we promised her that we would continue to fight this disease and help other children with cancer. Words can't describe what our precious Payton had to endure over the last year.  We hope we can all work together to make a difference in the fight against pediatric cancer.  We can't thank you all enough for the continued support you have shown our family.  As Payton had stated to her father at the beginning her illness "It's gonna be a good day".  Those are words to live by.

All our love to you,

Patrick and Holly
